300 if I don't feel like a rodeo clown clearing GR60 solo. On non-seasonal, I'm aiming to get at least one 6 piece set (maybe WD LoN as well) on the 250-300. There's a place under the sun for everyone and if you plant good seeds you will have a good harvest. I won't touch leaderboards because I don't che. I won't used caldesann's despair on anything seasonal, becuase I plan to get the stash and move on. You get a LOT of gems in a vault run if you were leorics broken crown and this will be much needed as I doubt people will bother having the helm in their farming builds for other activities. I had initially planned to augment all my gear with lvl 50 gems and then grind up as high as I could like that, but now I've seen how many gems are needed ontop of the other costs I think it's likely I won't bother at all until I hit a grift wall that isn't caused by low paragon level.įinally I just want to add that puzzle rings are super valuable now and I doubt we will see people choosing to ignore vault runs now because of the stupid number of flawless royal gems you need to augment gear. More importantly you CAN upgrade an item with a higher level gem if it's already been augmented but you CANNOT change the stat being added.Īugmenting uses a silly amount of resources and I 've not seen anyone post any info yet on when it's worth doing. This may seem obvious but to those who haven't been on PTR you must use the x3 flawless royal gem which corresponds to the stat you want to add. Let them run around dropping gems instead of outright killing them.)īut, man, I certainly wouldn’t wait for a Primal before doing it.Last updated at 14:00:17 UTC Weekly Help Desk RAGE Loot Thread Trade Thread (And don’t forget to tickle the Gem goblins if you get the chance. ![]() In the end, this is why we have speed farm builds in order to build currencies like this. Vault runs are usually productive, and it doesn’t matter (much) which gems you use, since you can transmute them. But the Broken Crown knocks that time in half. That’s not nothing, and looking at 14 of those is daunting. You need 243 of the Marquise to craft them. The cost for the augment is the flawless gems necessary to craft them. 30 minutes for the equivalent of 50 paragon is not nothing. You can level a gem up to 50 in 10, empowered, low level rifts in less than 30 minutes. It’s hard enough to get ancients in every slot, much less primals.Įach augmented gem level is equivalent to a paragon level. No reason to hinder your character waiting for a rare primal. ![]() So Crusader and Barbarian use Rubies for strength, Monks and Demon Hunters use Emeralds for dexterity, and Wizards, Witch Doctors and Necros use Topaz for Intelligence.Ī reasonably rolled augmented ancient will crush any primal ancient. Typically you want to augment using a normal gem that will give your character “mainstat”, as this is very important to a character’s power in Diablo III. ![]() Note that augments over-write, so if you augment using a lvl 90 gem, then a lvl 95 gem later, you get 90 * 5 = 450 stat the first time, and then 95 * 5=475 stat the second time that replaces the 450, it does not add to it.Īny legendary gem can be used, provided it is of sufficient level, however some legendary gems have level caps which can cause issues, and also the “gem of ease” can result in accidentally using the other recipe for it, that removes item level requirement, if not done carefully, so often it’s best to avoid that one. You can augment an item as many times as you have the materials (legendary gem of minimum level for piece of gear you’re augmenting, normal gem) to do so.
